Festivals & Fairs

Hamilton Zinefest was a blast! We had so much fun, in fact, that we once again forgot to take a photo of our booth set up. I think next time I’ll have to write “BOOTH PHOTO” on my hand in big black permanent marker. This was the first time my ceramics were seen out in the wild so I was extremely happy when I sold several of them. Most notably to Sam from the Hamilton Green’s party, who was friggen lovely. I met so many wonderful people, thank you to everyone who came and said hi!

These Little Lives are off to Europe!

I also went to the Clay Works Potter’s Market at the Grey Lynn Anglican church on May the 6th. There is some fantastic ceramics being made in Auckland at the moment, it was a very exciting market to be at. I met a girl in the purchasing line who was worried she didn’t get enough handmade plates to make a set because they were all selling out. I purchased this adorable brooch which was made by Hamilton Artist; Susan St Laurence, which has me so excited to try make some brooches of my own. You can see some of her work here.

‘Tea Please’ Enamel Pin By Pepper Raccoon

The other pin I’m wearing is Pepper Raccoon‘s “Tea Please” pin. Check out her website to see her other awesome pins and designs, I’ve got another one of her pins winging its way to me this week.

We also sent off our keychain prize to the lucky winner of our IZS Keychain draw. I hope he liked his one-of-a-kind handmade keychain, I couldn’t help but throw in a few free stickers as well. The box may or may not have been an Essie nail polish box adapted for the task, I think in future I’ll be a little bit more prepared to send off our prize draws! Nothing like a good old “how do I even ship this?” panic. As a graphic designer who often works on packaging, I should be ashamed haha.

And with that, I’ll leave you with three cute little instagram photos that have been my recent favourites because I fully acknowledge that most of the photos in this post have all been taken rather hastily with my phone. My lovely husband and I are working towards getting a DSLR but until then I’ll have to live with my phone and/or borrowing other people’s cameras.

Have a lovely weekend!
